Troy, Norman and Sean have skillfully architected a killer story that fans will go crazy for, just as Yvette and I have. We love and appreciate that Boondock Saints has such a rabid fan base that is starving for anything and everything that builds on the franchise. We see fans tattoo the characters, sayings, and prayer on their bodies, they engage in digital and social media, and they travel enormous distances to meet and engage with the creators and stars of the films and comics.
All this makes us excited to get to work with the team and deliver something distinct and special. Moreover, this is a proud comeback moment for Troy — a storyteller who has demonstrated humility and resilience in the face of adversity and emerged more focused and determined than ever to continue the Boondock Saints story. The hope is grow a rabid fan based and turn the Saints into a John Wick -type global action franchise.
It is the latest twist in the saga of Duffy and the Saints , a crazy ride that has more ups and downs than an EKG. It made the Hollywood rounds and suddenly this rowdy suds slinger at J Sloans saw the bar filled with studio execs trying to make a deal.
He chose an offer from Harvey Weinstein and Miramax that was to give him title to the watering hole in addition to a fat check. Duffy prevailed in getting the film made, only to find himself in the awkward position of showing it to studios right after the murders at Columbine High in Colorado.
The Boondock Saints did paltry box office, then went on to become wildly profitable in its ancillary run. Violent, Suspenseful. More Like This. Coming Soon. When a cynical ex-TV news anchor gets an alarming call on his radio show, he sees a chance for a career comeback — but it may cost him his conscience. A tailor gains special powers after being struck by lightning, but must take down an unexpected foe if he is to become the superhero his hometown needs. Very intelligent action movie, about two Irish brothers who kill 'sinners' to punish them.
The movie is a bit different from the typical action movie, as it doesn't have car-chases or explosions. The action consists of stylish shooting sprees. It also has a fairly original idea that is utilized in nearly every action scene in the movie, and that should be used more often in action films; first you see the aftermath, the crime-scene, the police investigating, counting bodies, etc. It's a different kind of vigilante movie. It's particularly gory and bloody, but this just makes it all the more realistic.
In real life, there is a significant amount of blood when someone is shot in the head. The movie has some Christian subtexts, I think I've heard about five major theories about the whole movie's meaning.
This shows, in my opinion, that there was obviously a lot of thought put into the movie. I'd recommend it to anyone who can stand the gore, even if they aren't Christians. FAQ 8. Is Paul Smecker gay? What are the differences between the R-Rated cut and Unrated version of the movie?

Then a miracle occurred. It became a big hit on DVD -- so big, this sequel was justified. Flanery and Reedus are back from the original as Connor and Murphy MacManus, two Irish Catholic brothers who executed countless Boston villains with bullets through the head and pennies on their eyes.
To me they look like twins. They now lead a quiet life in Ireland, herding sheep and smoking. Brokeback bachelors. After 10 years, still unmarried, they live at home with old Poppy MacManus Billy Connolly in a cottage perhaps once inhabited by Ryan's Daughter's great-grandmother.
Word comes that a beloved Irish-American priest has been executed back in Boston, with pennies on his eyes. This calls for revenge: Someone is imitating their style! Electrified, the lads rush back to the States on a freight ship and go into action, killing, oh, I'd say, hundreds of people, easily. The lads borrow a page from their old Poppy and don leather vests with build-in holsters for either four or six handguns, I forget. These they typically use while leaping in slo-mo off concealed trampolines while firing two guns each at the camera.
If they always jump side by side, does that make it harder for their enemies to miss at least one?
